FAQs:

What do the containers look like?

Earthware containers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but will have distinctive markings on them including the Earthware website to be easily identifiable. See the examples on this page, or visit earthware.me/faqs for more information.

How much money will I get back at the Depot for returning my Earthware containers?

Consumers will receive a deposit refund of 25-cents per bowl or lid that is returned undamaged to a Depot.

Are there standards of cleanliness for containers to be returned?

Yes. Consumers are encouraged to empty the containers and rinse them before returning them to a Depot. Leftover food could attract pests or contamination concerns that should be avoided.
If a customer returns a container that still has food inside, they will be instructed to take the container back and follow program instructions that are included on Earthware’s website at https://earthware.me/returns/

Can a Depot accept damaged containers?

Containers with obvious cracks, breaks, or other damage should not have a deposit refunded. Customers will be asked to take the container home and place it in their municipal recycling bin, since it can no longer be reused. Similarly, if an Earthware container is deformed due to heating in microwave or cooling in freezer, or has other damage that would make it unable to be reused, it should not be refunded.
